Lawful purpose and proportionality
Every proposed mandate is tested for a legitimate objective, appropriate authority, jurisdictional limits and proportionality. Instructions are not accepted merely because information may be commercially useful.
Independence and conflicts
Potential conflicts, incentives and material dependencies are considered before acceptance and throughout the mandate. Where a conflict cannot be appropriately managed, work is declined or stopped.
Data minimisation and confidentiality
Information collection is limited to what is relevant to the documented decision. Access is need-to-know, channels are selected by sensitivity, and disclosure is controlled by purpose, role and legal requirement.
Source discipline
Source provenance, recency, corroboration, bias and lawful accessibility are considered. Fact, allegation, inference, scenario and professional judgement are distinguished in reporting.
Human accountability
Technology may support search, organisation or analysis, but does not independently approve a subject, determine integrity or make a consequential client decision. A responsible human adviser reviews material conclusions.
Anti-bribery, sanctions and financial crime
Mandates, clients, payment routes and local execution are subject to proportionate integrity controls. We do not facilitate bribery, corruption, money laundering, sanctions evasion, unlawful concealment or deceptive access.
Local-law coordination
Cross-border work is designed around applicable local restrictions. Qualified local counsel or appropriately authorised specialists may be required before a method, transfer or use of information is approved.
Records, challenge and escalation
Material scope decisions, limitations and conclusions are documented at a level appropriate to the mandate. Contradictory evidence is not suppressed. Concerns about legality, ethics, security or quality are escalated and may require re-scoping, pause or termination.
